The (ele/”font” never for-GETs!

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 10:25

A sneaky way to use google to search your site without acknowledging them!

The more time passes,
the more why_ snippets seem like

It’s alive! It’s alive!

Congrats on making your code even harder to read!

whoa… I didn’t know you could do:

(ele/("font" .. "font/br")).to_html

The .. in that context looks way useful.

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 12:30

ok we get it

(ele/("font" .. "font/br")).to_html

Looks useful but errors for me.

DFS : Me too…until I was enlightened:
gem update hpricot --source \
http://code.whytheluckystiff.net
then everything became clear. Nice snippet!

...although it’d be cool if ’...’ worked, and excluded the br tag match at the end.

teh only thing preventing you from ascension to godliness is a # at the start of a line with some meaningful text after it.

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 13:29

Thanks, Morgan.

Its like Thom Yorke has started programming. :)

If we’re talking nostrils, it ought to be posted by why the lucky sniff, no?

I’ll get my coat…

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 14:00

Probably not the cleanest solution, but it works for me:
Support ’...’

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 14:18

Okay, great! Thankyou, Morgan.

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 18:26

i get NoMethodError: undefined method `filter[..]’ for #

said on 18 Apr 2007 at 18:38

don-o – See Morgan’s first comment for the solution.

I threw together a very rough controller and view to use this as a site search. Works well. I did get blocked by Google for a while after multiple identical requests though.

So … how about that alt attribute? Would sure be neat for that grafic up there.

That is a thing of beauty. My soul is weeping tears of joy.

dont ever stop displaying your code creatively! The nay-sayers wish they could just copy/paste their entire LIVES and be done with it!

require 'Rmagick' <br/> include Magick <br/> code = ImageList.new('aside-from-that-there-is-a-range.gif') <br/> code.write('deranged.pgm') <br/>

elsewhere:

gocr -i deranged.pgm <br/> u_' = '' h_p_./,_vv :h__.v_ suL;_n_ ;.._ L , , : ; : , .,,. ,: : L: . _LI -1 t ( . e s c a 0 e ( s e a c c h ( p r ' (0_een(uri))/'' (li _1. ,'' ).ma p _ Iele 1 (_l_le _> ele. a ( ''_'').;nner_1ex1, _.I:n_ => e Ic. a t ( '' a''t['href'], _.d.e_{_:_: ?r:u :: _ _J r,ele/('' fo nt''..''font(br'' )).1o_html)

darn, I wished that worked
