Mini-Cinema Reels for Ruby #
What better way to fight the fed up with this newsgroup thread, in which a disgruntled reader chided ruby-talk for being an utter wasteland of snaggletoothed besmudged dwarves (Ed. Note: embellishment mine), than by devolving into a pile of movie quotes translated into Ruby.
A great, little game I won’t soon forget:
it.puts(lotion(skin)) || it.gets(hose) 3.times { heels.click && assert(!places.any? {|x| x.like?(home)}) snakes.why? slaves.each {|x| x.say "I am Spartacus!" } hills.alive!(music.sound) flag = true begin sam.play_it x = 0/0 if flag rescue flag = false retry end badges.show if horsemen.federales? 1_000_000.times { voices.cry("terror") } && select(nil,nil,nil,nil) good(:many) / good(:one) > 1.0 self.send(she.having) you << force puts(self.name = "inigo montoya") assert(self.father.murderer == you) you = nil GC.start
Mmm. The you = nil; GC.start
by Martin DeMello is just vile and full of fumes. Thanks, Hal, Martin, Bill, others.
What would be xtra-warlock is if you could feed these quotes into a Ruby+DVD machine and have the movie fast-forward right to the spot. /me puts thumbs in armpits of geek vest.

damn, I need a translator for some of these.. but I definitely love the ‘inigo montoya’ one :)

OMG . This is horrendously funny. I need to subscribe to ruby-talk. Also to get some updates, I guess. A side-effect, if you will.
something
’s wrong with me seemingly. I don’t find the above funny at all. Something about mediocrity and lameness.
