One-Stop Hibbs Diatribes: AT LAST!! #

by why in cult

Yeah, just: Curt Hibbs’ new blog. Curt is a kingly force in Rubydom who fires only cannons of pure action. I talked to him once. Yep, it’s true. I remember because I had to keep stopping myself from calling him “father.” It was really wierd. He has a look in his eye that says, “I sired all of you.” It’s cool.

So, he started by blogging some justification for his outrageous claim that Rails is 10x quick. And then, he blogged to debunk 37DHH’s outrageous claim that Mac is teh rulez.

Yeah, well, I gotta outrageous claim. I am 10x the ONLY way a guy should ever look like.

The photographer needed about 10x the amount of flash he used to take that picture. It’s too bad there was a total eclipse of the sun over Seattle the day you gave your YAML talk.

Wow… I’m honored to bethe subject of a RedHanded post!

Robby Russell has now got me setup with Tobias’ Typo blog software on his Planet Argon hosting site. As soon as I can get it configured properly, it will be my new blog home. When this transition finally happens I’ll post an entry to the old blog and leave a “forwarding address”.

It looks like Planet Argon is a good place to host Rails apps (like Typo), so I may find more use for this than just a blog. Many thanks to Robby for setting this up for me.

Robby Russell has just now set me up with Tobias Lütke’s Typo blog software on his Planet Argon hosting service. As soon as I get it configured, it will be my new blogging home. When I finally make the transition, I will post the “forwarding address” to my old blog.

Planet Argon looks like a good place to host Ruby on Rails applications, so I may end up using this for more than just a blog. Many thanks to Robby Russell for setting this up for me!

The phenomenon above is one that (I believe) is related to caching of Hobix’s static pages.

Right now I’m operating without any cache directives in my HTTP response headers. Which is fine for people simply browsing the site. But in the case where a post is made, you are redirected to the page you came from.

I either need to redirect with a timestamp in the query string or find an ideal cache header which will check the ETag or something. It works for me in Firefox, but has anyone else had problems??
