Ruby Committers Now on Basecamp #

by why in cult

I just got a bugfix assignment from Matz via Basecamp. Looks like all of cvs-admin is moving there. He has the 15th marked as his milestone for another release of 1.8.3. You’ll be seeing the past few months of YAML improvements in this release.

You can continue to post your bug reports to ruby-core or rubyforge, Matz is only using Basecamp for making assignments to the team.

Has anyone, anywhere posted a list of what’s new in 1.8.3? I’ve been unable to find it.

Jay, tutu, there’s a Changelog file that comes with Ruby which gives you the nitty gritty.

Well yeah, there’s this: http://www.ruby-lang.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/ruby/ChangeLog?rev=1.2673.2.1225;content-type=text%2Fplain

It’d be nice to see a summary of changes which affect Ruby programmers as opposed to ruby-core programmers.

Yeah! What Trevor said! Sorry for the double post; posting doesn’t seem to give visual feedback.
